Tricia began taking piano lessons when she was 7 years old. As a member of the children’s choir she wanted to be in a grown-up choir that would sing every Sunday. Those dreams came true. She sings in the Chancel Choir on Sunday mornings, and even sang in the Fort Worth Opera Chorus, another childhood dream fulfilled after seeing her first opera in Vienna, Austria at the age of 5 years old. When she retired from teaching in Birdville ISD, she knew she couldn’t stop teaching. She is thrilled to teach folks something and to see them "get it", no matter what age. So, in addition to teaching young children in two private schools, she directs handbell choirs at two different churches. She’s a self-taught hammer dulcimer player and a former state champion dulcimist for both Texas and Oklahoma. The next time you make a visit to the Log Cabin Village be sure to stop in at the old school house. During the school year she’ll be there every other Sunday afternoon playing with the living history old time music string band known as Buttermilk Junction. |
