David Price - drums and percussion

At the suggestion of a family member, David began studying music at 10 years of age, briefly attempting to learn guitar and the French horn, and eventually deciding on the drums - much to the dismay of his parents who preferred a quieter instrument. David spent the next 8 years in the public school music programs: concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, marching bands, several teenage garage bands, and several school musicals playing a wide range of drums and other percussion instruments. During this time, David enjoyed many private music lessons with professional percussionists in the Fort Worth area. While at UTA studying business, David was encouraged by a friend and former school band mate to join the UTA Marching band's drum line after hearing him bang out a cool rhythm on a counter top.

After college, David worked professionally in the real estate, banking, savings and loan, defense, and the IT industries, eventually earning a MBA. During this time David concentrated on his business and IT career and on writing and publishing business and IT articles for regional and international trade publications.

Once again, music called and David was encouraged to get back into drumming by his two daughters who jokingly complained of his continuous banging on pots, pans, and anything else he found. A gift of a pair of drumsticks from the Hard Rock cafe in London sealed the deal.

After a stint with a church Praise band, David concentrated on Jazz, Celtic and folk music, World percussion including Djembe rhythms, Americana and early rock and roll and be-bob. David's influences are many and include Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Louie Bellson, Doc Severensen and Ed Shaunessy, Paul Shaffer, Preston Thomas, and Jim Petty.

When David in not rehearsing with a band, or wrecking havoc on computers, David likes to be with his two daughters, read, play baseball, jog, watch movies, not take himself too seriously, and restore and play vintage drums.
